Why is this photo part of the site design?

In my novel SURVIVAL OF THE FAIREST, gnomes from our fairy heroine's realm aren't like the myths about gnomes from the human world.  They aren't helpful, homey little creatures, they aren't jolly, and they don't eat berries.  Real gnomes are dangerous, especially in swarms, and you should beware of them.  They are also very good at hiding and often mistaken for statues.
