Why is this photo part of the site design?

Just hearing the words "Once upon a time" sets off a chain reaction of anticipation inside me for a great story, and apparently it sets off my imagination too.  I love to take fairy and folk tales and twist them into new stories.  My novel A SPELL FOR SUSANNAH is based on "The 12 Dancing Princesses", for example.

I would not love to write a novel using an old typewriter, though.
