In 2004, the Speculative Romance Newsletter (then called the Science Fiction Romance Newsletter) hosted its inaugural Zircon Short Speculative Romance Contest.  The contest was a success, so it was repeated in 2005.  The Zircon Awards produced such a wonderful array of love stories, the SpecRom editor and former editor decided the stories simply must be shared with the SpecRom subscribers and other highly discriminating members of the reading public.  Rather than beg permission from the authors to post the stories on the SpecRom website, the dynamic editorial duo who simply didn't have enough ways to burn their free time contracted with a publisher to produce....
