The Story Behind the Story

This story began because I'm brunette. It sounds silly, I know, but I've never been able to get myself inside the mind of a blonde character. So I created Genevra, as pale and as ice-blonde as it's possible to be. And because I enjoy strange juxtapositions I made her an assassin, despite the fact she was both overweight and inept.

Genevra began life as a secondary character in a loosely-linked fantasy series, but I found I became so intrigued with her, I had to give her her own happy ending or have her take over the book. Hence this story, which allowed me to explore Genevra's mind and heart. One of these days, I may give her a book of her own. So many ideas, so little time...

By the way, I'm still looking for a home for that the fantasy series....
