"Seduction in Blue"
Excerpt:
His eyes were very blue in the tanned expanse of
his clean-shaven face. His hair, a shade like pale, burnished
bronze, curled in tempting ringlets around his forehead. Broad
shoulders were encased in a loosely woven ivory shirt reminiscent of
ancient tunics. The neck gaped to show a tempting slice of tanned
chest. Khaki walking shorts and leather sandals completed his
ensemble. Alex realized she was staring at his legs, and her cheeks
flushed.
“I was just trying to find better lighting,” she
stammered. “I wasn’t going to steal this.” She held the book out to
him in case he didn’t believe her.
He took it from her and glanced at the spine. A
smile creased his cheeks in deep, fascinating dimples. “Interesting
choice. You must be a scholar.”
“Yes, I’m a professor. Of ancient cultures.” Alex
kept her gaze firmly on his face and not his tan legs. She couldn’t
quite place his accent. It was different from the locals she’d
encountered, more cultured. His voice was low and melodious.
The man inspected her, his smile lingering in his
eyes. “If you enjoy this volume, you would love our rare books
collection. It’s housed in another location for security reasons. In
fact, I was going to spend the afternoon studying a…recent
acquisition, after I dine. Would you care to join me?”
