These Kittens Look Familiar

Sharing another catty writer prompt today, and I think you’ll agree these kittens look familiar. How do you suppose THIS happened?

A basket of kittens, these kittens look familiar
You open your shirt drawer. Inside it, a cat you don’t recognize has had kittens. The kittens look JUST like your tomcat.

One possibility. Your tomcat let his girlfriend in through the cat door. Another possibility. Your tomcat and his girlfriend are shapeshifters. Another possibility. Grey tabbies are really common and your tomcat had nothing to do with this. Another possibility. They aren’t actually cats but instead are sentient alien beings.

What’s your possibility?

Whose Diary Is That?

You probably shouldn’t pick the lock on secret books. Bad things can happen when you unearth a secret cat diary.

You find a locked book. When you unlock it, you realize it's a secret cat diary.

You shouldn’t be invading people’s privacy this way! But since you did…fill us in. What’s kitty been up to? How much danger are you in? Is kitty saving the world or destroying it? You can get a catty writer prompt every Wednesday at my Twitter page or my Facebook page or other places!

But I Needed That Box!

What do you do when you have a really scary guard cat and your cat chases the delivery person? And what was in that box that was so important? Every Wednesday I try to post a catty writer prompt to get your creative juices churning, kind of like a whirlpool of feline. This particular cat is very proud of the way he chased off the mail person.

This story would probably be flash fiction, but I’d like to see your flash!

Your cat chases away the delivery person with a very important package

Here is a delightful old video from AFV about a cat who does NOT like the mail delivery — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn3ymQB4iqQ

DNA at Crime Scenes

Oh, dat boy. He left DNA at crime scenes. He’s been very very bad. Or has he? Only YOU can finish this story.

A catty writer prompt where your cat's DNA has been found at several crime scenes. DNA at crime scenes.
DNA? Yum!

If you want to see more catty prompts, here is the place I post them on TWitter!

Kitty Lothario

Got any spare time on your hands for writing an AMAZING story? How about this for a prompt. Do you think a kitty lothario might be guilty? How is Mr. Man making this happen? Does he have human help?

In the town where you live, everyone's cat has started giving birth to polydactyl kittens...even cats kept inside the house.

Writer Prompts, Feline Style

I don’t know about your brain, but my brain is constantly whirring. Even when I sleep, I apparently dream eight things at a time and often remember them. As much, I frequently come up with “great” ideas for my career, for my crafting, for my family, for friends, that I often have to stamp down because 1: there’s only so much time in the world, and 2: they are not all great ideas.

However, my latest brain fart IS a great idea, and I will duel anyone (with words) who thinks otherwise! You know how on Twitter and in other places there are a slew of writer prompts that get the brain churning and stories flowing? Well, I have had the grand notion to stimulate my writerly and not so writerly friends with my own version of writer prompts — naturally, catty writer prompts.

Catty Writer Prompt #1. In the town where you live, everyone's cat has started giving birth to polydactyl kittens...even cats kept inside the house!

I’m On Week 3!

I have had some responses on Twitter and a few on Meankitty’s Facebook page (go see!), although Facebook appears to be locking my views down since I can’t afford to buy ads. So I believe I’ll also post them here, on mah blog, as a repository for anyone who is interested in being inspired to write GOOD fiction, ha ha. Obvs fiction is at is best when it’s about cats….right??

Catty Writer Prompt #2. Your cat's DNA has been found at several crime scenes.

Next week I’ll share this week’s and next week’s prompts and we’ll be caught up with our catty writer prompts. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram under the #cattywriterprompts hashtag. Got any cat stories inside you? This should bring them right out. Comments are open 🙂

Here’s one of my cat stories (free) if you want to read one that started with a catty writer prompt of sorts…
